The junior class at The Masters School recently hosted an event called Canfest. Over the past two years, they have been collecting cans with the hope of building the world's largest can tower in support of the Help Kenya Project.
On November 9, 2008, they succeeded. It took 13,244 cans, three months of gluing the interior blocks, and a couple days to put it all together, but they did it. Here are some photos. All proceeds generated at canfest and from recycling the cans will go towards building a computer lab for a school in Kenya.

Welcome to the Help Kenya Project. We are a Westchester, New York based charity that focuses on helping the children of Kenya. We collect donations of used computers, books, clothing, sports equipment, and other supplies and ship them to Kenyan schools and libraries. In return, we ask that the recipients plant trees to combat deforestation and provide children with a place to rest and play out of the sun.

It’s incredible how valuable the book or computer you might be throwing out is to a Kenyan child. By providing Kenya’s students with science, English, and computer skills, we give them a much better chance of finding good jobs later in life. We break the cycle of poverty by helping Kenyans to help themselves. This is charity that truly leaves a lasting impact. Jude Ndambuki talks with a teacher
