The Help Kenya Project relies heavily on the work of volunteers. All the work we do, from carring computers into storage to packing them for shipment is done by volunteers.
Volunteers might:

Collect donations

Repair computers

Test computers

Pack computers, books, and, clothes

Load the shipping container

  Publicize the project

      The Help Kenya Project sends a yearly shipment to Kenya in the summer. Typically, we begin the bulk of the computer repair work in the second week in June. We work through June preparing computers for shipment. Early in July, we then pack the finished computers as well as any books, clothes, school supplies, etc that we are sending. Finally, we load everything onto the shipping container one day in early July, and then begin preparing for the following year.

      We most need volunteers to help repair computers during June and especially to help load the container. However, we also do smaller scale computer repairs on weekends throughout the year. The calendar below lists those times when we will have work for volunteers. When the summer nears, you will also be able to find exact dates for summer work and container loading there.
